So, the other day while my mom was re-painting her bedroom she had everything pulled out of her closet. And outcame a "Chucky" doll that my had gotten several years ago being the Scary-Movie Buff that he is.
Now, you would think that my 2 year old would run for her life after seeing this not-so friendly faced little fella. WRONG! She immediately wanted to hold him. Asked what his name was and she was told "Chucky". She wouldn't put it down. Walking around the house with "Chucky" on her hip.
I had to run to the store and Jaden could not go w/o Chucky. So as we are driving and come upon a stop sign and there are members of a local church standing there handing out hot dogs in celebration of July 4th. A little boy sees Jaden in the back and asks if he can giver her one. I said sure and rolled down her window, not even thinking about what she had with her. As the poor kid reaches in to give Jaden to ever-so-nicely individually wrapped hot dog, Jaden preceeds to hold up her new friend and say "You see my friend Chucky". Yeah! You can imagine the look of horror on this poor kids face.
So, I say thank you and pull away from the stop sign very quick before they can write down my license plate and report me for something. I'm sure there has got to be some law out there for parents who decide to give there kids these scary toys! Lol. So as we are driving away, I ask Jaden if she wants the hotdog (which, btw, I had to take from the little boy b/c he was frozen with fear and Jaden wasn't letting go of Chucky and was a little confused as to why he was scared of her new friend). And Jaden responds "No." Then she begins a conversation with Chucky "Chucky do you want a hotdog?" "No?" "No, Mommy Chucky Doesn't want a hotdog". I"m having to convince myself that Chucky isn't really talking that it's just her imagination!
I asked Jaden - you aren't scared of Chucky? She said "No Mommy I"m scared of the Dragon"! My kid is scared of a Dragon on Shrek that wears lip stick but she's not scared of Chucky? Figure that out!
